“We want to do a lot of stuff; we’re not in great shape. We didn’t get a good night’s sleep. We’re a little depressed. Coffee solves all these problems in one delightful little cup.”

We had a wonderful stay in Garden! It was perfect for a quiet getaway. We had inflatable kayaks and were able to take them out on the local Garden bay as well as on Indian Lake, about 25 minutes away. We enjoyed catching a sunset at Fayette State Park and the hour drive to Munising to visit Pictured Rocks and go kayaking and hiking was a total pleasure through the national forest. The apt has everything we needed, we appreciated the extreme cleanliness and the well-stocked kitchen in terms of pots, pans, and utensils. We enjoyed the quiet property and even saw deer one morning. We had a lovely meal at the Dock Bar and Grill a few miles away and also enjoyed the local summer and fall farmer’s market (Sat from 9-11am). Have a great time!

“This place was so wonderful for our needs. We wanted a clean, quiet place to rest between our adventures in the UP and this was perfect. The cedar grove nearby was a delight to walk through and the hosts were hands-off unless we needed them. I highly recommend!”

“This was a fantastic place for us to stay as we traveled through the UP. It’s very comfy and has plenty of space for larger groups. Nicole was very friendly and we had no hassle with check in or our stay. I would absolutely recommend this stay for anybody traveling through the area.”

Garden Grove was perfect. Our room was quiet & very comfortable, and the grounds were so peaceful, especially the prayer labyrinth. We were only able to stay one night, but my wife and I have already decided to take another trip to the U.P. soon. Highly recommend the lovely Garden Grove <3 so relaxing and like a breath of fresh air… Thank you so much for our last-minute booking & for welcoming our 4-legged travel companion. We absolutely loved our stay at Garden Grove and plan to return and stay longer next time we go back to the U.P. Everything has been maintained so well it still feels like the Catholic retreat it once was. It’s so beautiful and gave a great first impression, not just for visiting the U.P. for the first time but Michigan too. Thank you again and God bless!

We had a very comfortable stay at Garden Grove. The house has a great size and the kitchen well-stocked with all the necessary cookware. The host was easily reachable and very helpful. The house was also very clean which is extremely important especially during COVID times. Thanks again for the wonderful stay : )

“You won’t be disappointed at all. The space was perfect for two people and was beyond clean and welcoming. The garden in the back leads to a beautiful in the woods was a nice place to walk after a long day of hiking. Also LOCATION!!! Within 35-60 mins you can see tons of waterfalls, see both Lake Superior and the Bay de noc, and hit all the towns. We can’t wait to come back. It was so quiet and peaceful. A lot of hidden surprises. 10/10 recommend!”

"Great trip, wish we could have stayed longer. Great place to get away from the big city."

     - Cedric, Skokie, IL

We stayed here for our trip to Pictured Rocks. This is a very clean place with a great hospitality and the hosts are very warm. The common areas are quite big, ideal for a group. We enjoyed staying in the cute town of Garden and would recommend anyone visiting this area to stay here.

“Our family of 5 adults fit comfortably in this spacious and immaculate apartment with full kitchen, dining room and 2 bathrooms. Lots of space to cook and eat together, and play games. After all the summertime tourist congestion elsewhere in the UP, Garden felt calm. Close to fayette state park and kitchitikipi. Would choose this again!”

“Great place to stay for a quick trip up north in the U.P.!”

"We enjoyed our stay here as the unit was nice and clean when we arrived. The outdoor area of the retreat was also beautiful and had plenty of areas to explore. The property is located about 1.5 hours from Pictured Rocks, which was beautiful. We would definitely come back here again!"

“Beautiful, well-kept retreat center with a cool history. Well-appointed and spotless guest rooms with lots of light. The location in Garden was quiet and close to many sights including Fayette Historic Park, Manistique, Peninsula Point, and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. In-room coffee and a great selection of continental breakfast foods were a plus.”

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Huge garden/forest outside and a lot of privacy. Nicole was very sweet and helpful. Would definitely come back.

My girlfriend and I visited the UP during Labor Day weekend, and the Retreat was perfect for our needs. We wanted to take day trips out to various locations, and the Retreat was nicely centered that these trips were very easy (2 hours to Tahquamenon Falls, 1.5 hours to Marquette, and 1 hour to Munising/Pictured Rocks). Nicole has a little breakfast station in the morning that helps you jump start your day (coffee, apples, bananas, juice, mini donuts, etc). Additionally, there is a restaurant about 5 minutes away called The Dock that we enjoyed visiting for a nice dinner outside. All in all, this was a great place to stay to be able to explore the UP.
